Project Avielle.
Project Avielle was the biggest project that we've taken on this year, designing and building a park. We had a meeting with Jim Winters for the parks and Rec. department of the city. The reason why it is called "Project Avielle" is because this park is dedicated to little girls named Avielle Richmond who was one of the 1st graders who was killed in the Connecticut shooting this past December 2012. One of our one teachers here at High Tech High Chula Vista was considered her "auntie" which is why we looked at her more. We've talked to her parents, have petitions and have worked really hard to design this park. Our class working on this project but now we have to move on to sophomore year, quite a few of us will still try to work on it in different ways to keep it alive and try to see if we can build a park out of this for the Richmond family and as our deed to the community.
